Website Security - Why it matters?

ssl certificate

Things change and evolve all of the time.  Web Browsers & Websites are not exempt from this fact.   Previously the only websites that were required to have SSL Certificate were those that had eCommerce on their site.

But times, they are changing and security is of increasing importance.  As a website designer for small businesses, my goal is to help businesses maintain their strong presence on the World Wide Web and as a result that now includes the purchasing & installation of SSL Certificates on your website.

An SSL creates a secure tunnel through which information including usernames, passwords, credit card numbers and more can pass safely.

SSL Certificates

Secure your data and boost your Google rank.

Improves Google Ranking

Google positions HTTPS-encrypted websites higher in search results. So an SSL protects your customers and also helps more people to find you.

Strong Encryption

SHA-2 and 2048-bit encryption, the industry’s strongest encryption technology. It protects data transmitting from browser to web server and is virtually uncrackable.

N

No Insecure Warnings

Avoid warnings saying your site’s not secure.  Google and Mozilla mandate HTTPS-connection (or SSL) for websites that have intake forms. If your website does not use HTTPS, a Not Secure warning with red exclamation mark will display in the browser’s address bar.

SSLs boost your credibility by confirming the authenticity of your business. They display a padlock in the visitors’ address bar, letting them know it’s safe to submit passwords, contact information or donations.

    Benefits of using a SSL:

    • Proves domain ownership
    • Boosts Google Ranking
    • Padlock in address bar
    • Security trust seal
